BrightPath Philosophy

Our Philosophy

At BrightPath Active Learning we approach learning through a natural setting, where children are outdoors, exploring nature and at the same time actively learning about literacy, math, science, arts, cultures and themselves.  BrightPath is not a nature school focused solely on science and nature, but rather uses nature as a forum for instruction.  We have found that children have an inherent fascination with nature and the world around them.  At BrightPath we capture their natural curiosity and harness it for learning.  We apply this natural curiosity to other topics such as character concepts, cultures, music and art.

In the case of a half-day Kindergartener, BrightPath Active Learning can be a complement to traditional classroom program.  Or, in the case of Preschoolers, our program will stand alone as your child’s primary early education program.  By removing the typical classroom boundaries and constraints, nature and the environment around us provide an outstanding forum to broaden a child’s learning experiences — personally, socially, physically and academically.  This makes us a perfect ‘other half of the day’ for families choosing half-day kindergarten.  It also makes it a great primary education program for older preschoolers (3 and 4 year olds).  To be successful and to thrive in our ever-changing world, we believe that a child’s education is enriched with different learning environments.  Our model creates a space where children can engage in learning in different ways.

Our teachers are our most valuable resource.  BrightPath’s skilled teachers turn the interest, curiosity and youthful energy of children into an exciting educational environment.  Children can apply their own creativity, thoughts and interests to their experiences in nature and our talented teachers use these as learning opportunities and lessons for the children.

Education Beyond Academics
Not only do we enhance a child’s academic foundation, our goal is to also enhance a child’s physical health, social skills, character and personal maturity.  Our program weaves character messages throughout our time with the children and includes programs such as Character words and community to teach such themes as honesty, respect, and determination.  Time will be spent on activities, games and exercises that include aspects of social responsibility that include the environment, protecting nature, personal and social responsibility.

As part of building the child’s character and personal responsibility, we strive to make BrightPath a community in which the children take pride, feel ownership and respect themselves and one another.

The BrightPath Mission
We will engage all students in hands-on and meaningful activities using nature, art and physical activity as a forum for learning. Our mission is to enrich a child’s early learning experiences building a stronger foundation for success in their continued education.
